Jason > I would not reccomend anybody to switch gases using a switch block. Blocks have been in use in the UK for some time now with no problems. It appears that most of the problems are procedural, not equipment related. A good design switch block should have the following features:- Positive lock on the position that allows the diver access to their decompression Gas(es). This ensures that the switch to deco gas is a conscious one. Snap connectors for Decompression gas connections - this allows multi gas switches and also gives access to staged gas or gas carried by dive partner(s). All deco/travel gas cylinders connected to the block must be EITHER left disconnected until required and disconnected after use, OR connected, pressurized, tested and then turned of until required and turned off after use. This makes a wrong switch nearly impossible due to the actions required during the switch. Most users tend to use the second method described. Regards Chris
