I have question for you guys... Why stop at a 30? How come you don't use a 40 pony? That's another 10cuft of life giving gas you can use while extracting yourselves from your apparently frequent clusterfucks. For that matter, why not a 72cuft pony? Hey, I know, how about a pony the same size of your main gas? You could fuck up from now to eternity with that amount of gas! Wow, I'm really excited about this. Oooo! Oooo! Lets figure out a way, a bracket or something, to center them on your back, THAT is *definitely* marketable! OOOO man... I just got a great idea! Why not figure out some way of hooking the two together! We can call it a, a, "togetherness pipe"!!!! OH GOD I'M ON A ROLLLLL! WE CAN CALL IT THE SUPER PONY RIG WITH AN AUTOMATIC TOGETHERNESS PIPE, AND CHECK THIS OUT.... WHEN YOU FILL YOUR MAIN TANK, YOUR PONY AUTOMATICALLY GETS FILLED TOO!... HOLY SHIT, WOW! I THINK WE'RE ON TO SOMETHING!! OOOO, JANET, RUBI, SCALEMAN, I THINK WE CAN MAKE A MILLION HERE! I SEE HUNDREDS, NO, THOUSANDS OF DIVERS MARCHING OFF INTO THE HORIZON WITH THE INVENTION OF THE CENTURY!!!! WE CAN OFFER THEM IN AN ASSORTMENT OF EYE PLEASING COLORS!!! OH, STOP ME, SOMEBODY STOP ME PLEEEEASEEEEESSSS! JIM Sender: Scaleworks@ao*.co* Date: 1/15/99 1:51 PM >Jim, > >First you have to admit to the fact that people dive singles. Always have , >always will. They don't want or need to dive doubles. Sounds to me like a good plan for people who >dive singles, in fact, you will see on many boat schedules up here, that >ponies are required for single tank divers. > >To suggest that a single with a y valve is a better setup is absurd. Where is >the redundant air source? > >To suggest that making a free ascent is the proper method of extraction >from a >bad situation, instead of switching to a pony is absurd. > >To suggest that because thousands of divers do dives on single 80's and live, >means it is the better setup is absurd. > >Not everyone wants to or can dive doubles, not everyone is an accomplished >diver, who in a single breath can extract themselves calmly from a bad >situation, and do a free ascent from 100 ft. > >To suggest to people that they should discard a viable piece of life support >safety equipment, in exchage for the macho, I'll save myself in any situation >because I am super diver attitude is irresponsible. I hear a lot of "you >should be able to, or you shouldn't be diving " mentioned on this list, but >the fact is not everyone can do everything perfectly everytime, and to put >your life in the hands of this attitude is an accident waiting to happen. > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------- Learn About Trimix at http://www.cisatlantic.com/trimix/trimix.html -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
