Many batteries show specifications between 17.0 and over 18 ah. However, when I was looking around a couple years ago, I found that this number clearly had no relationship with the available current on a fast discharge rate. On a one-hour discharge rate, the batteries were giving between 9ah (for the GS Portalac) to 12 or 13 ah (the Yuasa). My specs may be a little bit off here (I am writing this from memory). However, all this information is available on the various manufacturers' web sites. Another thing that surprised me was that the Powesonic were lighter than the other ones for equivalent power... may be the case material is different... or may be Barry could help a little bit here in explaining this.
