I agree Dave, I don't doubt that it can be done, Yes I've had to do it myself. My only comment is that if you don't have to then don't. If there are shackles, bolt snaps, clips or whatever out there that don't require this, then use them. Why use something that you'd have to take your gloves off for? I know the wrecks in the NE are sharp, sliced many gloves. I hate having to take them off when on a wreck (like fooling with an anchor shackle). The last thing you want to do is slice open your hand on a wreck.
