Jim, My students and I drive over 200 miles to get to this site (Mukilteo S.P.) , so it is far from being convenient. There are no saltwater sites up here that have a flat bottom at 100', at least not any that have been found yet. Most deep sites up here require at least a quarter mile swim from shore to get to, this one requires about a thirty yarder to get to the slope. When I'm dealing with a slack current window of 15 to 40 minutes the last thing I want to have is students caught in a 2 knot current and swept out into the sound, not to mention the DCS potential of a long surface swim after a deep dive. I consider this site IDEAL for what I use it for, your wrong on this one. ---- David Central Washington Scuba Center www.cwscuba.com >This thought process can be extended to gas choices, dive locations, etc. >Apparently in Seattle they choose to use this park for training because >it is convenient, not because it is ideal. Are there ideal sites? >Probably, but not as convenient. And we can't inconvenience instrokters >because they are real people trying to make a living. They have bills to >pay and deadlines to meet. Surely you can't expect them to drive all over >the country to find a decent training site. This is very callous thinking. > > Jim .. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. Send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'.
