I am amazed at the number of local Southern California divers that dive air
between 50' and 130', when inexpensive nitrox fills are readily available, "
but cost too much ".

I am amazed at the number of local Southern California divers that come up
blue and shivering, when inexpensive good quality drysuits are readily
available, " but cost too much".

I am amazed at the number of local Southern California divers that push the
tables, when inexpensive but very advanced dive computers are readily
available, " but cost too much".

I am amazed at the number of local Southern California divers that dive old
crappy worn out gear ( mask, fins, regs, ets. ), when inexpensive gear is
readily available, " but costs too much".

Nitrox is too expensive ?? Think about the cost of an evac. and chamber
series. Think about the cost of a corpse repatriation and funeral.

This is what we should "filter down" to the masses.

The difference between the cost of making three gas dives off a dive boat or
three air dives of a boat is insignificant when you calculate the cost of
all our training and gear, and the price of the boat ticket into those three
dives, or average the total cost of our training and gear over our dive careers.

But the inherient increased safety factor of using the best mix for the dive
is tremendous.

" it costs too much " is just an excuse.
