Kevin,
If you scored an 80, that would put you far above most of the top
nordic/crross country skiers--typically the highest of all athletes in VO2
max.  I'd suggest you get retested by "experts", and if you still test this
high, get your lazy ass out on the road and start winning bike races :-)

As to VO2 max being overated, it is the best measure we have of
cardiovascular fitness, and more importantly for diving, of the peripherol
adaptations which correlate with high VO2 max.

As to a reliability indicator, I am  saying "normal" tech divers should be
at least 30 ml / kg, and deep exploration cave divers should be in the high
40's if not high 50's.  I believe Goeorge can score high 60's, and his
recovery from huge exposures, relative to all other divers, underlines this.

If a Wak 2 guy came in at 20 ml/kg of body weight, I'd say he should be
dumped from the team until he can get it up into at least the 40's.

This is what my reference to VO2 max was suposed to imply.
