Billy, I don't know the actual conversion (I could look it up, but I'm lazy and it's beside the point anyway), but aren't the 7L about 45cf? My wife and I are working up to technical diving. Part of that process means diving with doubles and all the rest. But Tina is not yet strong enough to climb a boat ladder in anything but flat calm seas with her larger doubles on, and most of the boats we have gone out on this season aren't real happy about divers doffing gear in the water, let alone doing dives past the NDL. So for our workup dives she's using double 45s. The advantages are clear; about as much gas as a single 95 but better balance and a manifolded configuration so the regulator setup is the same as with larger doubles. The downside is also clear; no isolator in the manifold which, along with the limited gas supply, enforces a no-ceiling limitation. (Does anybody know of a manfold and band set for the OMS 45s that includes an isolator?) I dive my double 95s, which are way too big for the typical two dive trip, but it's the only set of doubles I have. The biggest downside of this for me is that I'm getting lazy - I have so much gas that I typically only look at the SPG after I'm back on the boat. Next season we may be ready to try out a few of the boats that cater to "tech" diving. Then, Tina will be able to doff her gear in the water, and she'll leave the little doubles home.
