I'm not sure where I stand on this issue. On the one hand I never collect portholes, but don't object at all to others doing so. I have always looked at the vast majority of wrecks as a big junkyard in the ocean. Wouldn't environmentalists be screaming bloody murder if we left all our car wrecks on the side of the road instead of towing them to a junkyard? What' the diff? On the one hand I believe in protecting the environment (no mercury in rivers etc), on the other hand I believe we are PART OF THE ENVIRONMENT. Aren't about 99.999% of all species that ever existed extinct? Lets face it, things will work out without the spotted owl! I do however see a difference in a few wrecks like the monitor and maybe the Titanic and the Mary Rose types of ships. r.b.
