Well, it appears that there is another mind-numbed robot on the DIR bandwagon. Scubapro. I got a spam from David L. McLean, a marketing zombie from scubapro promoting the "xteck" product line (xteck, jeeze!). They have web page where you can put together a rig from various components. One of the components is a DIR rigged backplate and they have a DIR rigged set of doubles to add as well, right out of DIR 101. They also have a set of dual bladder wings (no doubt to satisfy the other group of mind-numbed robots on this list, the dual bladder bungee crowd) with semi-bungees. These wings seem identical to the new DiveRite bungee-wings, no doubt made at the same factory in mexico. Rather than the total bondage that OMS uses, these wings have a 3-point system which pulls the wings in (Why? Hell, I don't know) but cannot cause the problems the OMS stupor wings are infamous for. I guess they are trying to avoid dead divers and the inconvenient lawsuits that inevitably follow. What slackers. But they also make standard wings, too. Heck, this "build your rig" can be used as a stroke test by those screening buddies, heheheh. So, anti-DIR crowd, seems strange that a system used by goose-stepping nazi's is now mainstream. But I'm not worried, the anti-DIR crowd impress me as being a bunch of band-wagon jumpers anyway, so welcome to the fold, mein herren.
