Ingemar Absolutely correct, no system is foolproof, the proof of the pudding is the driver of the unit and not the navigator. If a problem occurs then the driver resolves it, with the right training and experience(as any type of diving)the incident just becomes a part of the dive. The facts are that I am unaware of any fault occuring in the system that purely occasional observation of the controllers will not allow you to sort any probs. I sense that your preference is for semi-closed (a la George) you could well be correct, I happen to think that there is room for both in this world and that with long cave penetration on semi closed that a CCR could not be beaten for the deco, remember that you can always go OC on both systems but the CC also has the option for semi closed. One thing I do know is that I have absolutely no intention of a return to OC after 6 months of CC if only because it`s too cold. Have a Heineken on me.
