David- The diaphram got unseated and I could not get the face unscrewed underwater to fix it. When I got to the surface it turns out that it was cross-threaded by the person who rebuilt it last. But no problem, it finally came off and screwed down correctly and I used it on the next dive. This was a lesson for me, i.e. after you get your regs rebuilt, pull the faceplates before you dive to make sure you can pull them underwater. It is also a lesson to all you poor slobs out there who bought regs you can't open underwater to fix/clear. Suckers. Of course I would not have know this at all if it were not for the advice of that person we all love to hate, Mr. Irvine.
