Yes, Jeremy, it's a constant battle of good and evil. And I, with feet in both worlds, have to walk the fine line or suffer castigation. Here's how the thought process works: "Hmmmm, who's this guy over here? Oh, no, he breathing the long hose! he must be one of those goddamn nazi hogarth fanatics, where's my knife! But wait, he's got a computer so he can't be all that bad! Waaaait a minute, where the hell his bungies!?! Why I oughta.... Oh, he has a neoprene drysuit, hew! had me worried. Wha, whaaaat? What's that, a fucking cave light?!? Why that no good, rotten...." Anyway in the sea of pony bottles, bungies, stuffed hoses etc. etc. I still would have been easy to pick out as the NE DIR rep. I'm getting there, Jeremy. One thing that was interesting, on my support dive of the hard-core guys who did the 300' Washington dive only a couple were fully DIR rigged but NONE used dual-bladder wings. Are they out of touch or something? Or do the vet's realize what useless POS they are? Hmmmm. I also noticed another item, "poor man's argon", i.e. use your nitrox stage to fill your drysuit rather than the trimix in your back gas. Never thought of that. I guess with cavers leaving stages you could not do this but with wreckers taking their gas with them...
