Scott, I don't think that a cave trained diver that has never done a wreck dive is competent to dive your typical New England wreck. It takes some non penetration dives on wrecks, conversations with other knowledgeable divers, and a few guided penetrations before I think your typical cave diver would be ready to dive. Also I think the three person buddy team, so prevelant in cave diving is almost immposible to have on any typical NE wreck dive. How is one to compensate for that? I agree there are no short cuts not even cave dive training. And I am seeing more and more as a result of cavers people thinking they can wreck dive because they are cave divers. -Charles ps. I am full cave certified from JJ, and I still don't think I am ready for certain NE wrecks. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
