I have had it 3-4 times and all occurrences were in low/poor visibility.I
believe,in my case,it is triggered by heavy sediment/particulate/plankton
bloom and  no visual or tactile reference.If I can touch bottom or the wall
it stops.Grabbing another diver vigorously by the throat also works.:)I dive
nitrox on a regular basis but these attacks were on air.I don't know if this
was coincidence or not.Focusing on gauges or my computer does not help.The
attacks were at depth or on ascent and were particularly severe.One case
resulted in an uncontrolled ascent to the surface.
I now will not dive in poor/low visibility.
