I called DAN about this a few years years ago, and what you
write is consistent with the message I took away from that
conversation -- wait a couple days.
I don't remember *why* they said one should wait, and I'd
love to learn more about that if anybody knows. I suspect
dehydration is part of the issue. Anything else? Perhaps
a slight reduction in the rate of gas exchange until the
RBC count has time to build back up?

p.s. It's good to see other divers interested in blood
donation -- it's important, and no big deal. The
only pain is from the pencil-pushers who insist on
collecting everybody's SSN, but alas I digress...
