Also, with the inflator in the right post, and the backup reg not being needed, isn't there a danger of rolling the left side off, locking pressure in the reg, and overswimming thirds? I would presume that checking the left knob or the backup reg prior to SPG readings during the dive might be the answer? Left hand swings up to the knob before down to the SPG? Remembering the previous reading and expecting less next time guards against both this situation and a simple stuck needle. A friend of mine has a theory that so long as he keeps an inflator on his left post, periodic bouyancy adjustments would alert him to a rolled-off left knob. Some instructors insist cave students breathe a left-post reg, but that forces you to either stuff, or risk rolling off the long hose during an air-share.
