The most awe-inspiring bit of convolution I ever saw involved an independent-doubles rig; since the owner wanted his left tank to feed from the left, and the regs took right-hand feeds, he made up a J-shaped metal tube that ran from the reg, did a 180 degree curve downwards, ran under the reg, came up the other side, and connected to the end of the hose. He even had it nicely chromed to match his pony bottle.
