> >> WKPP doesn't care if you learn, Mike. > >George has stated multiple time that his his, er, "determined" manner >is because he wants to help people be safer. I dunno, I'd equate that >to him wanting to educate others. While I think his tone goes >above and beyond what is needed, I still think it is out of concern and >not because it trips his trigger. > Mike, This is not an uncommon situation....in the nutrition and fitness training universe, the best of the best that I have ever met is Terry Giles, trainer of Olympia winning bodybuilders, Famous Ironman Triathletes like Mike Pigg and Dave Scott, and scores of others at the pinacle of their competitive sport. He also is one of the best creators of high end nutrition products. Like George, he will explain things to people who ask him nicely, and he'll spend quite a bit of time with them---because he wants to. But if someone want's to take an arguementative tone with him, and demands to have Terry prove something, he will be more likely to tell them to go eat shit, etc. Asking George to prove OMS bungied wings are bad, would be like asking Terry to "prove" an athlete needs 6 or 7 meals per day, as opposed to 2 or 3. He might give you one quick answer, but he would be pissed that you would question his knowledge---he has spent 20 years perfecting his knowledge, and does not need to "prove" his knowledge to anyone. Its there for those with the right attitude, and the absolute proof is in the results. The same as with George. No one in diving can touch George's safety record, especially with the magnitude of the depths, durations, and penetration levels he has accomplished with his team. George has not gotten WKPP to where it is in cave diving by "luck". He has done his research, tested everything, tried everything out, refined it, and on and on.... and if he is sure of something related to safety in tech or cave diving, you should take it as gospel. And you would do this "because" of his records. No one else has them. Certainly not Mount, Gilliam or any of the posers out there who think their opinions are equivalent.
