You're certainly asking in the right place; if the idea has been thought of before, and/or there's a good reason not to do it, people will tell you. And there's always the chance of it being an original idea and a good one. Nobody gets to be a good diver by turning up their nose at every new idea; analyzing things and looking for good and bad points is what leads to improvements, or at least to understanding of the subtle reasons why some things are done and others aren't. Which post would you run the HP hose from? Traditionally the Hogarthian inflator whip runs from the right post and the SPG from the left, although according to <http://www.gas-diving.demon.co.uk/pages/misc/kit/hoses.htm>, JJ has a variation that runs both from the left. Considerations: the two breathing hoses have to come off opposite posts, and long hose on the right gets the best hose routing. With a drysuit and no argon, the inflators come off opposite posts as well. It might be best to route as much as possible from the left post to absolutely minimize the number of things whose failure would compromise the long hose. Possibly you'd want an ultra-short HP hose (but still longer than a stage-bottle one) and rig according to the JJ method. An alternative would be to get inflator and HP hoses the same length and run both off the right post.
