Why not? bus companies have lots of $$. they aren't sued b/c the lawyer would be laughed out of the courtroom. Why not work to have the same happen in diving? I agree that right now we do not view the dive boat and the ski bus as having the same roles. But then again, that I think is OUR fault. We expect different things from them. We can change our expectations. When no one expects the dive boat to hold your hand, maybe then the lawsuits will start to look even more silly than they are now. Then if it continues down that road, at worst the case is tossed out in a preliminary phase. After all the boat had no duty that it could have breached. But you have to want it to work out that way. Its beyond me why more people don't want it to. Get all these fears of litigation out of diving. We bring them on ourselves by refusing to accept responsibility, and by trying to find someone else to blame no matter what goes wrong. So do you disagree with the premise, or do you just not think we could ever make it work? Mike -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
