Phi - I've seen people mount it on their back tanks and discover that they
can't always turn it on/off easily, have the light cord ripped out when it
catches on something - resulting in a flooded canister and destroyed
batteries. I've seen people butt mount it and discover that they can't turn
it on/off properly and also the cord is too short to hold the head in the
left hand. In other words all other methods are compromises.

Remember, hogarthian is a system. If you start modifying it, you are
getting less than optimal configuration and are thus making unnecessary
compromises. You may prefer to wear your stages bi-laterally, but that's
probably because that's what you always did. Try re-learning how to carry
stages on the left - once you've got it you'll hardly notice they're there!

John.
