Capt.- The fundamental problem with all zips of all types is the fact that it is impossible (except by destructive testing) to determine whether they are in good working condition or on the verge of breaking. Using cave line you can make this assessment visually and quickly. I don't deny that zips can be handy for non-critical surface applications but they have no place on _my_ rig. >use them to attatch lights, liftbags or scooters. For these things stainless >shackels and such work better. Capt. you know better than this. Anyone can tell you that it is wrong to have metal-to-metal connections _anywhere_ on your rig. You must be able to cut away any piece of dive gear attached to your body using a kinfe. This is common sence.
