According to Glen Butler of Life Support Technologies (he spoke about this at the N.J. Tech Symposium this week), the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) guidelines for O2 cleaning are 23%, based upon scientific evidence. The 40% number is solely for political purposes. It would be interesting (and probably difficult) to find out how many accidents or close calls there have been with systems that were exposed to between 23% and 40% O2 that were not O2 cleaned. After hearing Glen's presentation on air quality and O2 compatibility, it really makes you wonder if some people understand the special care that O2 enriched systems require. Christina Young
