Well, I think thats exactly what Lamar English started doing. His lights, 
or at least his style of lights, are now available from Arnold Jackson at 
American Underwater Lighting. Battery case is no biggie (if you have 
access to a lathe). Turn the lid so that part of it fits inside the 
cylinder. Glue the bottom on, O-ring the top, put on about three clamps 
bore a hole and thread it for the light cord fixture. The lamp,cord and 
all is available seperately from Arnold or any cave shop for about $135 
or so. The bulbs are halogens of course. Some people are more particular 
about the kelvin temp of the bulb. That has something do do with what 
"color" the light is. I use a Dive Rite myself, but have made 2 
additional battery packs ($30 each including connectors) so I can burn a 
100 watt bulb on each dive. I like to video when I can!
