Dan
I also know how serious it is to be a lynch mob and hang a man without a
fair trial.
At least regardless of the outcome all aspects will have been reviewed by a
unbiased jury so to speak
I guess you would have us put his head on a block take an ax and chop it off
or do as you hinted you would like to do and beat hell out of him, without
ever providing due process and review by his peers. Why waste time on an
overall fact finding mission when your mind is already made up. The reason
for this procedure is to limit me or anyone else from being able to take
that exact approach

Seems there have been groups throughout history that practiced this type of
justice and killed millions of people just because they felt like it, Well
two things one is my power is controlled by documents such as the QA manual
and two even if they were not I support a system of justice that requires a
fair and unbiased review of events. I may have my prejudices on some of the
issues in this event but that is why it is not left in my hands alone to
deal with. Like it or not it is a fair procedure and a just one.

The instructor is not found guilty or not guilty without due process, the
fact that on OW dives another instructor must be present(in charge) assures
the safety of the students if a instructor is negligent and it also allows
for more in water evaluation of the instructors skill level and dive
planning capability as the students were trained up to this point by that
instructor and are being evaluated by a different instructor. It also does
not discredit the instructor and his repore with his students while an
investigation is on going. What Dan do you feel is so wrong with this
process. Opps never mind we know the answer everything, You would rather
just take him out and shoot him and then see if any other material developed
that may have suggested you did not need to shoot him
Tom
