Steve

Some manufacturers are coming around, but slowly. MDE, a UK company that
make cylinder valves amongst other things, say that the O-rings do NOT need
replacing if you are going to run O2 in their cylinders. The rest of the
dive industry will come around but at the moment they have ultra cautious
standards. You may ask why is this? Why do you see expensive kits to
convert regs containing bright green replacement second stage covers and
green knobs for your cylinders? Sadly this and the other BS is a ploy to
make money out of the unsuspecting wannabe "technical" diver.

Moving on to your question. Clean it the best you can. The dive shops have
the same problem, this is what they do.

Another question about O2 cleaning for mixes over 40%. I understand
about using o2 compatible orings and grease but how do you O2 clean a
presure gauge? And what about hoses? There will always be hydeocarbons
in them. In planes you should see the o2 gear that is use. There is no
viton orings let me tell you that. Just what is the best way to O2
clean a set of regs and tank. I heard about tumbling the tank with
glass beads or something and other stuff. And some people just say fill
it.

Thanks

STEVE
