agreed.

and at the root of this cycle is GREED.
PADI and NAUI et al want the Divemaster/diver to pay for instructor
training and then specialty training and so on and on...

IANTD and TDI and THEIR ilk want divers to pay for layer upon layer of
technical training.
i heard this recently:
someoone walked into a "tech training" dive shop and inquired about Nitrox
training.
the guy behind the desk told him, unsolicited, that this is a step toward
Trimix, "which SHOULD be, of COURSE, your ultimate goal..."

so who do we blame when this guy winds up on the bottom in WPB?
