>Very nice analogy dan Glad you liked it :) >I am not that knowlegable about yoga. I will take your word for it as to how >much you can control your vitals. > >But isn't diving supposed to be fun. it seems like george would not be having >much fun. he would be concentating on controling his vitals all the time, not >enjoying the dive. shouldn't george let his athletic conditioning control his >body vitals on it's own, while he concentrates on having fun ?? NOt really. Not in a cave environment, in a deep penetration, and not on a 250 foot deep drift dive on a reef. Focus must always be there. You can still enjoy yourself----that's why we do this---but you need to keep focus. >can't the fat guy (having studied yoga like george) speed up his vitals for >the deco too ?? > >you are way too far out of touch with the realities of diving Captain Zero, If you had studied yoga, you'd find it would "enhance" your feeling of enjoyment on the bottom. It would "NOT" feel like work. It would be "fun". And yes, the fat guy will benefit also, just not to the degree that George could, because the development of the body in an elite athlete, will allow relaxation of muscles to a much greater degree than in the sedentary person, and the efficiency of the elite athlete's body while running on low heart rates, will be far superior to the fat one's---which is why the fat person will tend to run at much higher resting heart rates.
