I take my Aladin Pro on every gas dive as backup depth gauge & bottom timer.
It gets mad at me at about 20 fsw and starts beeping, which can be annoying
at the 10 fsw stop, but will shut up if I hang it over the side when I get
out of the water (one case where emergency in-water recompression is clearly
indicated!). The ascent rate alarm on the Pro is actually useful for gas
dives (provided your tables are designed for a 33 fsw/min ascent rate)
although once again the Pro gets mad at me on ascent to the first stop where
I ascend faster.
