Steve Are you suggesting that divers should use PERSONAL PREFERENCE regarding their level of fitness, risk and the dives that they perform ! That is kind of like suggesting divers should choose the type of BC that they use, or where to mount their light battery, or (God forbid) whether they tuck or loop their long hose ! Are you some kind of pinko anarchist ? Next we will hear someone suggest that the role of technical diving agencies is to teach divers to understand the issues and then to think for themselves. To make their own decisions on things like risk assessment, gear configuration for a particular dive, the gases they use, etc. The whole premise of ideas like the Hog. Rig (and several other major religions) is that someone has had the good ideas already and now we can adopt it ourselves with full faith that it has been thought through by greater minds than ours so we don't have to worry about it. Hey, if we get into trouble we pull out our long hose and say several hail Georges and it will be ok. Why where would we be if all the Catholics, Muslims, Hindus, Hoggarthians started using PERSONAL PREFERENCE.
