While we're on the subject of Poseidon regs, would anyone care to expand on the claim that their upstream design is a liability. I have taken a class in their maintainance (obtaining the preverbial "little knowledge") and it seems to me that the second stage should still free flow in an IP overpressure situation. From what I can see the pilot valve would be overcome, open and allow the "sock" to open as well, causing freeflow rather than no-flow. Any restriction in flow that might cause a further build up of pressure would be releived by the inline LP hose relief mechanism. Does anyone have direct experience with Odins in an IP overpressure situation? Or anything else that might illuminate the extent of this possible weakness in the Odin/Maxims performance? BTW I find the little ice slivers refreshing, certainly eliminates dry mouth.
