I hear this BS all the time. 1) "Hogarthian just isn't redundant enough to make me comfortable" If convolution makes you comfortable, then you obviously aren't committed to diving is a safe manner, and haven't thought out the real risk factors in diving. Hence Rule #1. 2) "A cave diving rig isn't suitable/applicable in open water" Hmmm... seems to work fine for me, and a whole bunch of other people, even some those who are doing some "real" open water diving.
