Subject: OPENWATER HOGARTHIAN
I've been on this list for quite awhile listening with great interest.
The Hogarthian system makes a lot of sense to me. I often wonder how the
Hogarthian system would be used by some of you techers & cavers for
shallow (< 80 ft.) no deco openwater dives. I'm sure some of you dive
openwater seldom enough that you would dive your normal "cave" or "tech"
gear (doubles, long hose, etc.) because of familiarity and that's what
you have.

I would be interested in hearing your _specific_ gear combos for the
above mentioned shallow diving for a Hogarthian system. I am going to
set up Hogarthian and start using EANx but do not do a lot of deep diving
(100' to 105' Max, usually under 80'). Hogarthian means If you don't
need it, don't bring it, so I would think that there would be a
difference from caving and shallow open water. In other words, what
would be a Hogarthian system for a typical shallow water sport diver? (I
dive dry in 47'F water with single tank.) I would think this would be of
interest to many, and might keep a few of us where we belong - sport
diving safely, as opposed to "Tech Diving" dangerously.

I know this isn't a cave or tech question, but where else to go for a
_good_ answer.

Thanks in advance!,
Mike Wells
