"Go as > often?" I do both. My Scuba Pro regs work fine for ice diving. Until this year I used a Mares Voltrex, which never froze, either. I have to dress a _lot_ warmer for ice diving. Because of this, I switch to a 10 (or 12, I never weighed it) pound stainless backplate instead of an aluminum plate. I use 72s instead of 95s. Add three-finger mitts and a 7 mil hood.
