                        NEW YEARS EVE CAVE DIVE:

       (As an alternative to the mundane New Years Eve party)

        For all of you who have read Sheck Exley's book "Caverns Measureless
to Man", you are familiar with Sheck's practice of spending New Year's Eve
diving in a cave at the stroke of midnight.  
        
        In honor of Sheck's memory (and because it sounds like one heck of
alot of fun) we are inviting all interested cave divers in making a midnight
dive at Jackson Blue (the Head Springs) in Marianna, Fla on 12/31/97.
Perhaps after the dive we can celebrate. Bonfire??? 

         You may want to make hotel reservations in Marianna.  We're staying
at the Days Inn in Marianna (850-482-3500). For general information please
remember that you must register with the Jackson County Sheriff's Dept.
before diving and pay your $15.00 fee.
