Susan, I think that it's a great idea to collect this info. I bought a Jetstream and two Cyclons to use with the Apeks regs I was using for 'normal' diving - cos that's what most of the deep wreckies and the few cave cave divers that I knew in the UK were using including Rob Palmer who trained me through IANTD (yes George I know and I am buying new regs...honest). I've never had a problem with them except after a shop service. The only reason that I'm replacing them is George's technical concerns voiced on this forum. I do know of one relatively inexperienced diver in our club who had problems underwater when trying to adjust them with a dive knife in-water - despite being told not to (point of note, please use judgement when compiling data!). Re Kevin Gurr - I'd be interested to know if this story is true. It doesn't sound like Kevin to me. In my experience he is the one IANTD instructor that I've had experience of that turned up on time and taught the syllabus he was supposed to (plus remedial work for stuff omitted from previous courses). He had a very easy lecturing style - not a professorial style but thorough and knowledgeable and on the practical side he insisted that the whole set of objectives were acheived (resisting pressure to 'get on with the deep stuff') before moving on. He certainly didn't teach me this trick!! regards Brian -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
