re your post on George's many failings..... A few years ago I unsubscribed from this list due to George's total inability to compromise, to allow personal preference to influence configuration. A few of us had developed systems which weren't that far from hogarthian rigs but even those small deviations were strongly attacked by George. So I unsubscribed. Then I read several articles about Bill Main's philosophy, looked at what I was doing and thought that going hogarthian would make things safer and simpler. Another person on this list whom I dive with occaisionally independantly has come to the same conclusion. I then had to admit George was right. I was a prime example of the comment made recently. A very experienced diver having to unlearn stuff. Moral of story for me at least is to listen to George and ask yourself hard questions about why that team does as much as it does with as few incidents as it has. You were completely wrong in saying George doesn't exchange information. He exchanges tons but he does so in an admittedly confrontational way. What would you rather have, a slightly bruised ego and good information or a lot of the posting on this list ( I am a recently qualified o/w diver and want to go on and do Trimix next wednesday , will I have to buy another reg). The one thing that I'd really like to know is whether Rich Pyle ( who used to be a very consistent source of information and seems to be coming back in the frame) and George like or loath each other......George?
