I've seen the posts advising not to lift weights after diving: the argument
that a weight-lifting injury could be confused with or could mask a DCI hit
makes sense. But what about cardio-vascular exercise after diving? For
example, jogging, biking, walking, swimming? I've heard it suggested that
cardio exercise after diving may be beneficial because it stimulates
circulation and promotes off-gassing, particulary for individuals who may
have reduced circulation due to prior injuries. Speaking from experience as
a recreational diver, a moderately strenuous hike a few hours after diving
seems to make me feel better, maybe because it helps flush out the nitrogen.
Do the WKPP folks or any others have a recommendation or standard practice?
