Only if you are believing some idiot dive shop, or DISCOVER DIVING mag when they tell you they can't be rehydroed to the"+" standard, which they can be, damnit. They can be, as many times as you like. Play it safe, and take the tanks directly to a hydro shop that is qualified to do the + rating - dive shops lie about this all the time, tell you they'll hydro it +, then when they come back without the + tell you "sorry turned out it's gainst the law" or any other bullshit that comes to mind. - Used tanks can be + rated. -tanks originally + rated can be + rated again, even if they weren't at a previous hydro (though it's a pain, do it right the first time). - tanks failing the + 10% overfill can be retested at the lower rated pressure, and if they pass, approve for that pressure.
