Ok all you medical types....here's one for you...

January I dislocated (in a real painful way) my left shoulder.
I tore my rotator cuff right in two and had surgery.
I also had some little pad thing repaired around the ball and socket.
I haven't regained full movement, but I am generally very comfortable and
have been for a while now. I picked up on diving by the end of April, and
have dove multiple times per week since May 1.

The question......

Any time I dive for extended periods at deep depth (deep being 190+ up to 325)
I seem to get a groaning little achy shoulder pain within about 30 minutes of
the dive (last week as I got to my 30' stop after 250 for 15). The pain goes
away usually within 3-6 hours. These pain comes on mix or air, and on air
even after completing all the required deco stops....generally all the dives
have bottom times over 8-10 minutes that cause the symptoms.

Could this be a small amount of nitrogen (or He) forming bubbles in the torn
vessels and scar tissues in the shoulder?

Would you bet it as psychosomatic?

Would you think it was just from lugging anywhere from 2-4 tanks along?

I'd have to say psychosomatic is out, 'cuz I really have no paranoia about it,
just a curiosity. I doesn't bother me that bad, and it'll NEVER turn me from
deep diving. I'm just wondering if anyone has a good explaination, or
has a similar experience with any other muscle/tendon/bone injuries.

Happy Diving!
