Hi All, Sorry to waste your time if this is of no interest to you, but I have had the opportunity to try out a new light system that I think is pretty good, especially if you have an Aga or Exo mask and want head lighting. I purchased one and used it a few times and sold it to my buddy (but I can borrow it back for when it comes in handy). It is the Nite Rider 2000 Light System. I've seen an ad for them in Scuba Times. They make a pretty good dual lamp head mounted system with a 3.5 hour battery pack that clips to a tank strap. The pack has an on/off and the headlamp has a one-or-the-other-or-both light switch. It can also be turned off at the light. It is dual beam with a 20 Watt and a 12 watt. One is a spot andd one is a flood. It it about 2X2X3.5 inches at the lamp, so it isn't all that big. The bulbs work well, but the reason I sold them off is that I just don't like a head mounted system as my main light for most dives. If I were in a wreck, I think I would love them, but for most of my dives that I'm out doing (deep dives), I don't like to have the particles in the water lit up by the beam like they do. Kinda like if you use a camera strobe with a built in flash....the reflective scatter is in almost the same line as the line of sight so you get a lot of scatter. I took it off my head and held it at my side and it is pretty good, but I figure I'll save my $$ and buy something else hand held until I really need a head mount often, and then I'll get another one of these. They sell for about $500-$600, which seems kinda high, but as I said, they work well. Tim Olson
