To all who follow these lists,

"I note with bemusement that George Irvine somehow wants to attribute my
posting with Bret Gilliam." SNIP

Only a pompous blowhard like Gilliam could be "bemused" (this blubbering
bozo means to say "amused" but says "confused" instead) by the obvious
conclusion that everyone who has read the bogus Bill Royal posts has
already concluded. This is classic Gilliam and if you read his
libelous drivel in Deep Air you would be further assured as to the
source of this nonsense.

Like Woody Allen’s character Zelig, who seems to be at the center of all
events, but is never recognized by anyone, our Bill Royal would have you
believe that he is a dive industry insider, despite the fact that nobody
has ever met him and there is no record of him existing in either
Atlanta or as a member of any known dive organization. This also is
classic Gilliam. Even as a bogus personna he still cannot resist
dropping names and letting you know how well informed and connected he
is. He also cannot resist making an unabashed plug for his comic book
"Deep (Air) Diving" ("I have never met or spoken with Gilliam but I do
enjoy his articles and books. SNIP" ). "Deep Diving" if you have not
already read it, is a collection of some of the best (unintended) dive
humor ever published. If you have followed these lists and have
developed a sense of "Doing it Right" you will be rolling on the floor
and spewing your pepsi on yourself laughing when you peruse the first
few chapters of what amounts to a Brett Gilliam autobiography. Next
time you are in a dive shop grab a copy (while they last) and you will
hugely entertained. The book is laden with pictures of Brett Gilliam
doing everything from piloting submarines, operating decompression
chambers to hobnobbing with dive industry "legends". The book is
also a great compendium of pictures of deceased individuals who perished
while diving deep on air.

What I don’t understand is why doesn’t Gilliam come forward and publish
this stuff under his own name. What is he afraid of? We all know that
this is exactly how he feels. Nobody but Gilliam himself could produce
such a statement. Take a look at the fake of George out of PSI net in
Miami, you know right away that this is not George’s work and you don’t
need to be an expert in pattern recognition to conclude this. George
never has used ethnic or racial slurs, ever, and the attempt to publicly
associate this behavior with him smells like it is coming out of the TDI
organization.

These people are so obsessed with George Irvine that they have lost
whatever shred of rationality they may have had. The unrestrained
blind hateful rage of Brett Gilliam and apparently Mitch Skaggs towards
George Irvine has affected their sanity. Who else but these two have a
reason to go to such extremes to discredit and insult George? The
article in Deep Air magazine is the smoking gun. Anyone who would take
such a frivolous and irresponsible risk by publishing such a sloppy,
innacurate and actionable article would also be foolish enough to
entertain this crude campaign of unpleasant and insulting posts.

Gilliam and Skaggs are oblivious to the majority public sentiment
towards Irvine. George gets the "Doing it Right" message across and does
what it takes to get your attention. In your face hyperbole, colorful
language and shock are all part of the educational vehicle to get the
message across. Just look at the WKPP and observe the results. As
Irvine has often said "there is nothing polite about death" and it is
exactly this sordid history of fatal diving tragedies associated with
misguided and irresponsible training agencies that stain this sport.

While Gilliam and his fellow travelers hysterically flail out at their
imagined enemies and other self induced bogeymen the freight train of
comeuppance careens towards their straw house which is sitting squarely
between the rails. As the first engine grinds the sticks, straw and
hubris into unrecognizable pulp the lost souls and victims of this
regime of incomprehensible negligence will begin to rest in peace.
