Subject: Re: Irvine & Internet
Dear Bill,

Nice try tough guy. You obviously went to great lengths to disguise the
real source of this dripping mouthful of putrefacted venom. How’s it
feel to be a junior "internet abuser"?

This post is disguised to appear as though it has been sent by a morally
and ethically "outraged" subscriber to "Deep Tech" (aka Deep Air)
magazine. To cover the real source several "intentional" errors have
been introduced into the text such as the "ScubaPro" thing and the
bizarre laudatory comments about the Bowdens (two unreconstructed deep
and deep air diving adherents). What makes this thing classic Gilliam
is the striking similarity to Gilliam’s contrived "outrage" letter to
George over the Rob Palmer thing. Later on it was disclosed that Palmer
in fact died during a repeat "Wah Wah" style third world deep air fest.
The articulation and use of figures of speech such as "animus",
"loathsome" and "venal ineptitude" (a peculiar and incorrect term not
remotely applicable to Irvine) are characteristic of Gilliam’s arcane
style. Recall his use of the peculiar phraseology "phillipic" when
describing George’s list postings.

Somebody went to considerable lengths to draft this post with the
intention of flaming Irvine while seeming to take the side of what some
have described as the "single worst influence in technical diving
today". The problem is that they went way too far with the hatred aspect
and are clearly out of touch with the majority opinion towards deep air
diving and George Irvine. The huge irony is that if this was sent by
Gilliam it is very amusing that he would resort to the same tactics that
he so vehemently accuses George Irvine of (i.e hiding behind
contrivedidentities). What makes this even more suspicious is the
reference to "millionaires" such as Gilliam and Jim King. Gilliam has a
well known and bad habit of prefacing his phone calls to those he
considers "subordinate" with grandiose declamations of self importance
and name dropping. Robert Carmichael, Jarrrod Jablonski and Scott
Landon all can relate tales of Brett Gilliam’s bombastic and boastful
telephone repartee as well as his constant self lionization (i.e CEO of
a major corporation.... I’ll call my friend the governor etc.). These
type of conversational quirks really lead one to question the
psychological fitness of this individual. Gilliam espouses to us that
George’s internet behavior transcends the bounds of socalled "polite
society". I would suggest that Gilliam review his own "deep air
loving" behavior before passing judgment on ours.

Still, Gilliam is no doubt very stewed over the funereal discussions
regarding TDI. We were expecting him to take a shot, but if this post
belongs to him (and I really can just guess) then I am led to conclude
that maybe TDI is getting ready to take a dive (nosedive).

Waiting for the next shoe to drop,
