In fact, I could still go to Suwanee County right now and press charges against Rennaker for making a false claim against me to the Sheriff. In the case of Annette Long, she is totally out of line. I first ran into her and Mark Long while Exley and I were preparing to do a mixed gas exploration dive at Eagles Nest with permission. Long and Long appeared preparing to do a sneak dive , ON AIR, with squirley gear that was beyond dangerous with no regard for what was going on at the time. I asked them to hold off , as we did not need a deep air cluster behind us. I also asked Mark if he thought it was smart to take an obviously out of shape novice diver for a deep air dive on independents. He just stood there. I then asked him to give us the survey data for Manatee Spings for the line he had been laying in the side tunnels so we cound make a map for the State ( DEP). He said he did not think a map was a good idea - he wanted to keep his lines secret. We went ahead and surveyed it ourselves, because the fact is that the two Longs did not survey.Sheck suggested to Mark, "how do you know where you have been if you don't survey?". JJ and Todd did an 11,000 foot dive in the Syphon Tunnel there, a World's Record at the time, and Mark saw our presentation at the CDS workshop, and went back and connected to the line from a tunnel a short distance from the end, which we had been surveying ( a short dive from Friedman Sink). We had done tons of exploration back there, and were interested only in the survey - LONG WOULD NOT GIVE IT UP, so we went back and got it ourselves, again, infuriating the Longs. The final thing that made me realize what a class act Annette is was when we were preparing to dive at Friendmann, and she comes down to he tiny sink and begins washing out her dry suit that she had just defecated and urinated in on a dive, while my children sat there in horor as she discussed her inabilty to control her bodily functions on the dive, and polluted the spring with her typical lack of concern for anything but her own immediate gratification, like the campaign against us she and the USDCT waged this summer. A little different when you hear the other side of the story. The chance of getting me to back off what is right is zero - no matter what. By the way, it was Sankey who made the comments about her, and she got "altered" and called him up in the middle of the night screaming - another classy act. I love to see a list like that on the other side of my thinking - it tells me I am right, and as you pointed out, DEEP AIR is the issue. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
