Hi Bill; I have a couple of questions about your policy. Specifically, consider the following scenario. I have a set of doubles that I have put my own He and O2 in. Now I walk into a dive shop and say, "Just pump air on top of this". And because I am a good guy and I don't want any He or O2 leaking back into their cascades, I tell them the contents of the tanks. 90% of the shops down here won't fill them, even if they have 1 way check valves and O2 compatible air. Now lets see how I fit into your equation below. Hmmm, Nope, I haven't asked for any O2 to be added. > 4) If tanks are filled with a gas other than air the customer > MUST analyze > the tanks and sign a waver stating the FO2 and MOD of the gas before > leaving with the gas. This one is a little tougher. Lets see, at the end of the air fill, the tanks WILL be filled with a gas other than air, so I pull out my own analyser and sign for the gas. > > 5) The tanks MUST be labeled with the contents and MOD if they > contain other than air. hmmm, yep, the tanks both have black duct tape on the bottom telling me they are bottom mix and there is a little piece of grey duct tape at the top of each tank that now says, "14/45 - 290" > If you feel that is to restrictive TUFF!!! No, I don't think you are unreasonable, if this is truly your policy. Unfortunately, there are many dive operations that spell out a policy like this, then when I comply with each and every item, they still won't top off my tanks with air. -- Regards, Andy W.
