I think wreck diving an ocean shipwreck amounts to an oxymoron. These rusting, rotting, crustacean covered masses have little resemblance to the ship that once floated. On the other hand, Lake Superior's shipwrecks still look much like they did the day they went down(no zebra mussels here). The archeological value of the lake's shipwrecks are second to none. And guess what, they still have artifacts on them that are protected by law for ALL to see by the US and Ontario governments. As far as technical diving, the best the lake has to offer start at 100' and go to 526'. As for famous wrecks, have you heard of the Edmund Fitzgerald. later Randy Sullivan Sault Ste.
