Digital gauges are cool, but they tie a lot of money up in something you don't really need, unless you are doing a lot of gas and need to wow the customers. The advantage to a digital gauge is really more in the ease of reading than in ultimate accuracy since the effects of temperature means you'll never get closer than a few psi regardless of how many decimal places your gauge reads. And then, your analyzer is only going to be accurate to .5% or so. And yes, there's no reason to use a 3000 or god forbid 5000 psi gauge - the O2 tanks only go up to 2200psi anyhow and the less range the finer the graduations and hence the easier it is to read. I've been using a 4 1/2" face 1500 psi surplus gauge from one of the places mentioned in the O2 Hacker's book - Surplus Center, I think. Not O2 clean, but works fine, and the price was right. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. Send list subscription requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'.
