Art, I am saying that planing an unnecessarily long deco in open ocean is nuts when you dould do two dives and have basicly the same overall deco, with less risk in each dive. Think it thgough for yourself. I am also saying that using 40's or 30's for deco makes a lot more sense for all of the reasons I stated before. With regard to "air" I am saying that most trimixes can be decompressed on without much diffence from what you would do had it been air instead of trimix, and I treat it as a faster deco. For example, if you were diving something like 18/30 for a 220 foot dive, and you "lost" you 50/50, you would only have to lengthen your intermediate stops by a small amount. If you lost your oxygen, it would reaqlly not be a 3whole lot worse than air since you are dealing with helium.
