Barry, relax; even from up here on the far side of Toronto I can see that this fellow isn't going to get to dive with the WKPP. Physical condition, attitude, and a transpack add up to three strikes and you're out, with a crew that'll probably do a "stroke arrest" on the first strike. I'm not sure it's a fake, either; he sounds much too sincere, as if he honestly believed he was going to climb Mt. Everest. The "deco fraud" he's talking about is the dawning realization that the IANTD training he got doesn't automatically qualify him for real extreme diving like you're doing, and that he'd look like a pretzel if he tried one of George's schedules. Evidently his instructor oversold him on how he'd be a Big Man (pun intended) if he took the course. Certainly the training he's gotten is good for some reasonably serious diving, but you're as far ahead of him as he's ahead of a basic diver and all of a sudden he's seeing the gap in front of him after having thought he was near the top. Hearing George Irvine, widely regarded as the best diver in the world, describing a dive as challenging and talking about his brush with DCS must have woke this fellow up.
